What Is a Thread Lift?

A thread lift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that lifts and firms sagging skin using fine, dissolvable threads inserted just beneath the surface. No scalpels, no general anaesthesia, no hospital stay.

Once placed, the threads do two things. First, they physically reposition the skin upward, giving you an immediate visible lift. Second, they trigger your body's collagen production in the treated area. As the threads dissolve over 4 to 6 months, that new collagen remains and continues to firm your skin for around 12 to 18 months.

Step 2 - Preparation on the Day

The treatment area is cleansed. A topical numbing cream is applied and left for 20 to 30 minutes. By the time the procedure begins, the area is comfortably numb. Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure rather than pain.

Step 3 - Thread Insertion (30 to 90 minutes)

Your dermatologist inserts the threads using a cannula. The threads are positioned precisely beneath your skin and the tissue is gently lifted. You can watch the change happening in a handheld mirror as each area is treated.

Step 4 - Immediate Results

As soon as the threads are in place, your skin is visibly lifted and firmer. There may be mild swelling or slight redness, which fades within 24 to 72 hours.
